Puerta del Sol
Puerta del Sol is an audio magazine for intermediate to advanced Spanish learners. It is a subscription program that includes the magazine, an hour-long CD or cassette, plus an optional study supplement. It is designed to improve your vocabulary, grammar and listening comprehension, as well as your cultural understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. Each magazine includes about a dozen topics ranging from politics and economics to tourism and geography to literature, poetry, music, film, etc.
I highly recommend this program to learn Spanish, especially if you do not have access to materials that provide spoken Spanish. Each magazine contains the full text/transcript on the even-numbered page, and the vocabulary on the odd-numbered page. There are several notes in English at the end that explain the people and places mentioned. The study supplements include audio flashcards (repetition of phrases from the text), as well as exercises (multiple choice, fill in the blank, etc.) to improve your vocabulary and grammar.
